Kilimanjaro International Airport - KIA
Kilimanjaro International Airport (KIA) was officially opened on December 1971, as a landmark of Tanzania's tenth independence anniversary, by the country's first president, Mwalimu J.K.Nyerere.It was constructed on 109 square kilometres of land roughly mid-way between airporten the towns of Arusha and Moshi, in northern Tanzania, centres for tourism, mining and high value agro-production.

The airport is within sight of Mount Kilimanjaro, Africa's highest mountain and is ideally placed for visitors climbing the mountain or seeking the game reserves of Serengeti and Ngorongoro. It is also only an hour's flight from Zanzibar island The Airport and its estate were concessioned for 25 years to Kilimanjaro Airports Development Company (KADCO) in November1998.
