News and HighlightsTanzanian minister highlights China’s contribution to infrastructure development in his country
Tanzanian Minister for Infrastructure Development Hon. Dr. Shukuru Kawambwa has highly evaluated China's contribution to the infrastructure development in his country. Kawambwa made the remarks at the signing ceremony of 10 major road projects held by the Tanzanian government in Dodoma on Monday, praising the projects constructed by the Chinese companies as the first-class. "It is because of the participation of the Chinese companies that the Tanzanian government has achieved to save a lot of funds on the infrastructure," the minister noted, expressing his belief that the Chinese companies will continue to keep their commitments and complete the contracts satisfactorily. For his part, Chinese ambassador to Tanzania Liu Xinsheng called on the Chinese companies to adhere to the law, implement the contracts strictly and complete the projects on time and in good quality to contribute to Tanzania's economic development and the friendship between the two countries. Of the total 10 road projects signed at the ceremony, six Chinese companies won eight, the total length of which is 554.2 km with the contracted worth of 490 million U.S. dollars. The collected signing ceremony of such scale is the first time in the history of Tanzania's contracted projects. Fang Yang Source:
